I started CrossFit a couple of years ago when I was struggling to make fitness a priority to be functional, rather than in the mindset of competing in powerlifting or strongman. I fell in love with the community and the challenges it afforded me. CrossFit has pushed me and encouraged me in ways I would have never thought, specifically becoming a CrossFit coach. I have taught in the EMS community for many years and I decided to take on the challenge of becoming a coach so I could give back to the community that offered me so much purpose and support. Working in healthcare, functional fitness and taking care of my mental health in a healthy way are of utmost importance. I've learned that showing up for yourself, even when it's hard or uncomfortable, is the greatest gift we can give ourselves in life. As well as finding an excellent tribe of people to encourage you, like we have here at LEAF. I am most encouraged as a coach by seeing people challenge themselves to do hard things, with success or failure on the line. I believe in the philosophy that embracing failures will always make you better. Outside of CrossFit I love playing with my two labs, Gus and Rudy, cooking, traveling, hanging out with my book club, and collecting wine.
